Interactive Murder Mystery Entertainment in Edmonton
Edmonton events do not need another awkward icebreaker. They may, however, benefit from a murder.
Smoking Gun Entertainment’s Edmonton troupe creates interactive comedy murder mysteries for corporate parties, Christmas celebrations, team-building evenings, fundraisers and private events throughout the capital region. Local producer Tom Blazejewicz is an actor, playwright, ghostwriter, painter and photographer, with an acting award nomination from New York’s Macabre Film Festival. He also regularly steps into the role of Detective Terry Shane, the investigator responsible for restoring order after our characters have thoroughly destroyed it.
Smoking Gun has a long record of Edmonton-area events in very different settings. The troupe has performed for Superior Safety Codes at the Fantasyland Hotel, Insight Psychological at the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre, Qualico Communities at Sorrentino’s Little Italy and BMO Community Hub at the Woodsvale Community Facility at Mill Woods Golf Course. We have also handled corporate bookings for organizations such as CI Investments and Apex Valve.
The show begins before anyone is asked to solve anything. Characters mingle with guests, start conversations and reveal enough grudges, affairs, financial problems and questionable decisions to make nearly everyone look guilty. When the murder occurs, the detective steps in and guests work in teams to determine what happened. Some people become intensely competitive investigators; others simply enjoy watching their coworkers become part of the comedy. Both approaches are welcome.
The format is especially effective for Edmonton corporate Christmas parties because the entertainment runs around dinner and naturally mixes people who may not normally socialize. There is no need to build the evening around a stage production or turn the event into a workshop.
Smoking Gun offers multiple themes and can adjust the humour for the audience, from corporate-safe to more adult. You provide the venue and meal; we bring the local performers, characters, clues and improvised comedy.
Where we perform around Edmonton
The Edmonton troupe serves the city as well as St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Leduc, Nisku and Beaumont, so venues just outside Edmonton can still be handled as part of the same local market. Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Fort Saskatchewan, Devon and Morinville are also within the broader area we regularly consider.
For larger or destination events, the cast can travel farther through Central and Eastern Alberta, including places such as Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Vegreville, Fort McMurray and Wainwright when the timing and event size make sense. Send the exact venue with your inquiry and we will confirm which cast is best positioned to handle it.
