Murder Mystery Entertainment in Ottawa
Ottawa may be a government town, but even we cannot confirm whether every Smoking Gun suspect has diplomatic immunity.
Smoking Gun Entertainment’s Ottawa troupe performs interactive murder mysteries for corporate events, association gatherings, Christmas parties, conferences, fundraisers and private celebrations throughout the Ottawa area. Local producer Dan Desmarais is an award-winning actor with more than 30 IMDb credits and experience performing interactive, site-specific theatre in historic buildings. That background translates naturally to a format where performers need to make a fictional world feel believable while improvising with real guests in real event spaces.
The Ottawa market includes corporate clients such as the Canadian Medical Protective Association, for whom Smoking Gun booked a multi-actor event at the E-Room in Ottawa. The troupe also supports the city’s large professional, association and government-event community, where organizers often need entertainment that is social enough to mix a room but structured enough to work around dinner, speeches and formal schedules.
Our characters become part of the event instead of performing from a remote stage. They circulate through the room, talk with guests and gradually reveal the motives, grudges and secrets behind the story. When the murder occurs, Detective Terry Shane takes over and guests can work with their tables to solve the case. Nobody has to act. Guests who love improv can engage heavily, while those who prefer to watch still receive the complete story.
That makes a Smoking Gun mystery particularly useful for groups that include people from different offices, departments or organizations. The investigation gives everyone an immediate shared topic without announcing that they are networking.
We offer multiple themes and can adjust the humour to suit a professional audience, a family group or a more adult private celebration. You provide the venue and meal; our Ottawa cast brings the mystery, suspects, clues and improvised comedy.
Where we perform around Ottawa
The Ottawa troupe covers the city as well as Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Stittsville, Orleans and Gloucester. This gives us a broad local footprint for hotels, restaurants, offices and association venues throughout the surrounding area.
We can also cross into Gatineau for suitable events and travel to nearby communities such as Chelsea, Arnprior, Carleton Place and Kemptville. Larger bookings may also justify travel toward Brockville. Include the venue and city in your inquiry and we will confirm the best arrangement before you book.
