Toronto Murder Mystery & Corporate Entertainment
Toronto has thousands of options for corporate and private events. Smoking Gun Entertainment’s job is to make sure yours is not the one everybody forgets by Monday.
Anne McMaster is an award-winning Toronto comedian, writer, improviser and producer with more than 20 years of experience performing, creating and producing comedy. A graduate of The Second City Conservatory, she has performed across Canada and internationally, and has performed with organizations including The Second City, Bad Dog Theatre and The Next Stage Festival. Anne specializes in improv, sketch, interactive comedy and event entertainment, bringing a sharp comedic instinct and a love of audience interaction to every performance. She is currently faculty at The Second City, the Ontario producer of Smoking Gun Entertainment, and the founder of McMasterful Events.
Anne’s Toronto troupe performs throughout the city and GTA in settings ranging from private dining rooms and corporate offices to hotels, breweries and landmark event spaces. Recent and preferred venues include Table FARE + Social at 81 Bay Street, Mott 32 at the Shangri-La Hotel, the Island Yacht Club, the National Club on Bay Street and the Village Loft in North York. The Ontario team also works beyond downtown, including Courtyard Marriott in Markham, 400 Brant Kitchen and Bar in Burlington and Lightcaster Brewery in Orangeville.
The troupe’s wider booking history includes LinkedIn at Mott 32, Cineplex Entertainment at The Rec Room Roundhouse, Live Nation at Revival, Jazz Pharmaceuticals at Le Germain Hotel Toronto Maple Leaf Square, Q Residential at the National Club, Geotab in Oakville and numerous other GTA corporate groups. That range is useful in a city where an event may be downtown, in North York, Mississauga, Markham, Burlington or somewhere else entirely.
Our actors do not stand on a distant stage. They mingle with guests, reveal secrets and motives, and gradually turn the room into a mystery. Once someone is murdered, tables begin comparing evidence and interrogating suspects. The interaction is improvised, so the people in the room become part of the comedy. Participation is always voluntary.
For Toronto companies, the format is particularly effective as holiday entertainment and team building because it gets people from different departments talking without making them feel like they have been assigned an exercise. Private groups get the same benefit: a complete evening of entertainment that still leaves room for dinner and conversation.
Choose a theme, tell us your venue and guest count, and Anne’s team will build the right cast for the event.
Where we perform around Toronto
Our Toronto troupe covers the city from downtown through North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke, and regularly performs across the GTA in Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill. The team has genuine event history both in the financial core and in venues well outside it.
Coverage also extends west toward Oakville, Burlington and Milton and east through Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa. We regularly look beyond the GTA as well, including Orangeville, Waterloo, London and Niagara-area bookings when the event and travel make sense. Send the venue with your inquiry and we will coordinate the most practical Ontario cast.
