Murder Mystery Entertainment in Kelowna & the Okanagan
The Okanagan already has the scenery, wineries, resorts and destination venues. Smoking Gun Entertainment supplies the suspicious characters.
Our Kelowna troupe provides interactive murder mysteries and improv-based entertainment for corporate celebrations, Christmas parties, winery events, fundraisers, private parties and special occasions throughout Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley. Local producer Bonnie Gratz coordinates the market and brings together area performers for shows that use Smoking Gun’s established scripts while still feeling spontaneous and specific to the people in the room.
A Smoking Gun show unfolds around the event rather than replacing it. Characters begin mingling during cocktails, personalities clash, secrets start coming out and clues appear between conversations and dinner. Once the murder occurs, guests can question the suspects and work with their tables to solve the crime. Nobody has to memorize a role and nobody is dragged unwillingly onto a stage. Guests can participate heavily, lightly or not at all.
Kelowna also has a strong public-show side. Smoking Gun performs several public murder mystery events each year at Revelry, giving local audiences a chance to experience the format even when they are not attending a private or corporate booking. Those recurring shows have helped establish a recognizable local presence for the Kelowna troupe. We have also performed at Lakeshore Place, adding another genuine Kelowna venue to our local history.
The Okanagan is particularly well suited to this style of entertainment because so many gatherings are destination experiences already. A murder mystery can turn a winery dinner, resort retreat or staff celebration into something much more memorable without requiring complicated production from the host. We offer numerous themes, from classic mysteries and Roaring ’20s stories to Christmas shows, weddings, reunions and resort disasters. Custom material can also be developed when a group wants something more specific to its event or organization.
Where we perform around Kelowna
Our Kelowna troupe serves the Central Okanagan, including Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country and Peachland. Because so many local events take place at wineries, resorts and restaurants outside the city centre, travelling to the venue is a normal part of how this market operates.
We can also take shows north toward Vernon and south through Summerland and Penticton, with Oliver and Osoyoos possible for suitable bookings. If your event is outside Kelowna, send us the venue and date so we can confirm cast availability and any applicable travel costs.

Kelowna murder mystery FAQs
Do you offer public murder mystery shows in Kelowna?
Yes. Smoking Gun performs several public shows each year at Revelry, in addition to private and corporate bookings.
Can you perform at an Okanagan winery or resort?
Yes. Winery, resort and restaurant settings are a natural fit for the format as long as the actors can circulate and there is a small private area for props and costume changes.
Do you travel to Penticton or Vernon?
Often, yes. Our broader Okanagan coverage includes both directions from Kelowna, with travel depending on the date and cast requirements.
Is the show suitable for a corporate retreat?
Yes. Guests work together naturally to solve the mystery, which creates interaction without turning the evening into a formal team-building session.
Can the humour be adjusted for our group?
Yes. We can keep a show family-friendly or corporate-safe, or allow a cheekier tone for adult private events.
