Murder Mystery Entertainment in Moncton
A Moncton Christmas party does not have to end with another buffet followed by everyone politely waiting until it is late enough to leave. Smoking Gun Entertainment brings interactive murder mysteries, comedy and improv-based entertainment to corporate groups, private parties, fundraisers and special events throughout Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick.
Our producer Samuel Grove is a multi-disciplinary actor for stage, film, and voice. Recently nominated for his role in Teagan Anderson-Léger’s film The Job (2024), as well as starring in other shows such as Con in Hubcity Theatre’s production of Stupid F***ing Bird (2024), Orlando in As you like It (2021), and various other productions around the area, Samuel brings his wealth of knowledge and talent to every project he’s a part of. Samuel coordinates the Moncton market and works with regional performers to bring Smoking Gun’s established scripts and interactive style to local venues. The troupe handles both corporate and private bookings. One example is a private farewell celebration at Five Bridges Bar & Grill, showing that the format works just as well for a personal milestone as it does for a company holiday party.
The experience begins before the murder. Characters arrive in costume and mingle with guests, introducing relationships, grudges and suspicious behaviour through conversation rather than a long opening scene. Depending on the theme, the room might become a disastrous wedding, a Mafia gathering, a troubled resort or a holiday event where nobody should have been trusted with the eggnog.
When the crime occurs, guests become investigators. They can question suspects, compare evidence and work together to decide what happened. The actors improvise with the room, so the funniest moments are often created by the guests themselves. Nobody is required to perform, memorize lines or volunteer for a role.
That balance makes the show a strong choice for staff celebrations and mixed social groups. People who want to participate can become deeply involved, while quieter guests still enjoy a complete comedy mystery from their tables.
Smoking Gun can adjust the tone for the audience and choose from multiple established themes. You provide the venue and meal; the Moncton troupe brings the actors, props, clues and detective. The result is entertainment that runs through the evening instead of asking everyone to stop socializing and watch a separate stage show.
Where we perform around Moncton
Our Moncton troupe serves Greater Moncton, including Dieppe and Riverview, as well as nearby Shediac. This gives the market a practical local base for corporate, private and community events throughout Southeastern New Brunswick.
The cast can also travel farther to places such as Sackville, Sussex and Bouctouche and into the Hopewell Cape area. Because Smoking Gun also operates a Fredericton market, we can choose the most practical New Brunswick troupe for events that fall between the two centres.
