Interactive Murder Mysteries in Fredericton
Fredericton may be one of Canada’s smaller capital cities, but that does not mean its event entertainment has to be small or predictable. Smoking Gun Entertainment brings interactive murder mysteries to corporate celebrations, staff Christmas parties, fundraisers, private events and special occasions throughout Fredericton and Central New Brunswick.
The Fredericton market is coordinated by New Brunswick producer Samuel Grove, who is no stranger to the theatre, allowing the company to work with regional performers rather than treating every event as a fly-in production from another province. Samuel also coordinates the Moncton market, which gives Smoking Gun useful flexibility when an event falls between New Brunswick’s main centres.
A Smoking Gun mystery begins as part of the gathering itself. Actors arrive in character and start talking with guests while everyone is still settling into the event. Relationships emerge, motives develop and suspicious details start to matter. Somebody is hiding something, somebody is angry, somebody owes money – and eventually somebody winds up dead.
At that point, guests receive the information they need to investigate. They can compare clues, question suspects and work with their tables to decide who committed the crime. Because the performers are improvisers, conversations with guests often become some of the funniest parts of the night. Nobody has to memorize a role or perform on command.
The format works well for Fredericton corporate and association groups because it creates an easy shared activity without turning the evening into a formal workshop. It is equally effective for community fundraisers and private celebrations, where the host wants entertainment that runs throughout dinner rather than stopping the event for a conventional stage show.
We offer multiple themes and can adjust the humour to the audience. You provide the venue and meal; Smoking Gun brings the actors, characters, clues and detective.
Where we perform around Fredericton
Our Fredericton troupe serves the capital region, including Oromocto, New Maryland and Hanwell. Those communities can be handled as part of the same local market rather than requiring a separate travel production.
For the right event, the troupe can travel farther through Central and Western New Brunswick, including Woodstock and surrounding communities. Saint John and Grand Falls may also be possible depending on date, cast and travel. With performers coordinated in both Fredericton and Moncton, we can decide which troupe is best positioned to reach the venue.
